Well I got one extra theater. Though interestingly, it made the least tickets, only racking up about 7, while all the others saw a considerable jump from yesterday's numbers. Do with that what you will I guess.

Up here looke like cineplex is literally only showing available non blocked seating with sold seats greyed out. This actually makes it easier at a glance. 

 

 

Ive been unable to do counts due to something coming up this weekend. It looks like to make up for blocked seats DOUBLE amt of showtimes in theatre!😮

 

If this is trend going forward i may  figure out a new layout ( hopefully when i get my new puter built in a couple of months )

 

In meantime need to adjust. Maybe just do total seats sold/total available like our philly poster😁

That was a mistaken assumption that gained traction on social media when it was revealed that AMC was allowing patrons to buy tickets next to seats that had already been reserved. There’s a reason for that apparent disregard of the six-feet apart rule. AMC’s ticketing engine will automatically block out one seat on either side of every party beginning Monday, but the technology was not in place when tickets first started going on sale last week.

AMC told Variety that to ensure the seat blocking technology is implemented without a hitch, the company needed a live ticket sales environment to test the new approach to reservations. It initially planned for a two week trial run, but after a successful launch, it has determined the results are satisfactory to roll out the technology to all theaters that accept reserved-seating nationwide. The rollout to the first wave of theaters should be complete by early this week.

Not sure I buy the "live ticket enviornment" line, but it's welcome to see regardless.

For people confused at the Total Seats? discrepancy, I actually forgot to account for a couple of showings, so that explains the spike there.

 

Anyways, it's better than the last couple days, so at least this hellscape is following the general increases of opening week. Still obviously things are Up in the Air starring George Clooney. Expect more theaters to add showtimes tomorrow, though we'll see how many will open. And before anybody asks, yes I will track New Mutants when it has tickets up tomorrow, but I will not use Unhinged as a comparison. Reportedly New Mutants has Thursday previews, and simply put, Thursday and Friday are two completely different beasts that it would be unfair to compare the two. Sorry to all excited for comps.
