Lmfao. They know that this will not generate any profit. Next step is to put it on porn sites to make money from ADS.

I see the irrationally anti-VOD squad is for some reason suggesting that Mulan being available on more channels in a bad thing for it financially 🧐

Makes absolutely zero sense, but what else can you expect I guess 😂

Tenet Early Access (Aug 31) MTC1

Number of Shows: 470

Seats Sold: 6106

Dollar Amount: $87749

Total Seats: 101572

Interesting thing is number of blocked seats vary based on location. I am assuming some locations have cap on number of people per show. So there are sellouts listed with 25 tickets sold.

If I am not wrong Mulan sold about 10K tickets after 1 day back in Feb when they listed tickets for presales. Bond sold even less than that. Fast 9 Also sold like 10K tickets after 1 day. So for Tenet to do this under Covid is phenomenal. Especially without the Top markets NY/CA

if I have to extrapolate without any more shows added its looking at $300K from AMC and somewhere between 1 to 1.5m national for early access. Let us see if the number of shows increase or not.

There are early access shows listed for Sep 1/2 as well. But no tickets for regular screenings from 9/3 onwards. I am curious as to how many shows it can get for regular screening from 3rd.

Cuomo is against opening plexes in NY and so BO will be depressed. No theaters open in California as well. So I cannot even see the movie. I hope they release it in Drive in so that I can check it out.

with more movie theaters opening next weekend and marketing rumpimg up this will help tenet ,as for new york from what i read cuomo said in an interview that he THINKS that movie theaters will be the next to reopen not guarantee though, also with muesums, gum  bound to reopen soon, i personally dont think that its unrealistic for movie theaters to be up and running mid to late sept

Still only through the Disney+ app but can use IAP (in app purchase) through those platforms so you don’t need to go out of the app to the website in order to buy the movie, just making it easier for the user. Won’t be available on iTunes and the like (at least not at first although it expect it will be later done the road)

The past couple of weeks of dudes throwing hissy fits over movie theaters and streaming and whatever is trying my patience. Can't imagine what the next few weeks will be like.

Tenet Early Access (Aug 31) MTC2

shows: 844

TIckets Sold: 4537

Total Tickets: 128959

Blocked Seats: 41353

Dollar Amount: $56780

MTC2 seem to have blocked way more seats. I have to slightly fix my script for DBOX screens but they are tiny and so far it appears they dont have blocked seats as there are only 20 seats spaced apart. I still believe its headed towards 1.5m in early access screenings. Of course if show counts increase dramatically and especially if any big markets like NYC, LA and SF are available I expect the numbers to go up. For now let us assume no release in NY and CA

I think pressure will be very high in NY for movie theaters to open - NY/LA are used to being the 1st to see product, and Tenet being good will ramp the pressure to get it there in some way...

Even if they have to abide by the Philly rules (no food, 25 seats sold per screen), they are gonna come up with a way within 2 weeks of Tenet's opening there (I'd say right after the US Open tennis tourney wraps up)...if for no other reason than NY isn't gonna have the summer activities open anymore that CA can have much longer term...

???? The movie was announced as a D+ exclusive, it shows that Disney know that Mulan will barely generate any profit. Even if it does something like $150m on OW, piracy will destroy any legs it could have just like it happened with Trolls 2.

And it's still a D+ exclusive. You can't watch Mulan unless you already have an account, but the partnering with Roku and Google and whatever is so people can purchase it without going onto the Disney+ website.

Available platforms: D+, Roku, Google, Apple... People don't need D+ to buy Mulan. So... this isn't a D+ exclusive. Not anymore

They still need to subscribe to D+ first to watch Mulan though and they can literally only watch it on D+. It's like DLC for games. I can buy DLC for a game from Steam but I need the game to play the DLC.

...yes you do. If you don't have a Disney+ account, you can't get Mulan. You can't not have a Disney+ account and go to iTunes and buy Mulan there. This just makes it so the transaction doesn't have to come from inside Disney+, which in some cases make things easier for the consumer.

Wrong.

This is from the New Zealand page so some details might be different:

From 4th September, with Premier Access, you can watch Mulan before it's available to all Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ will offer Premier Access to Mulan for $39.99 (and total minimum cost of $49.98 with a monthly subscription) on disneyplus.com and select platforms, including Apple and Google. Once you have Premier Access to Mulan, you can watch as many times as you want on any platform where Disney+ is available and on compatible devices. Your access to Mulan will continue as long as you are an active Disney+ subscriber”

So, New Zealand pays $10 more than the US folks?  Is that the proper currency exchange?

You are correct. The website I read said something different:

https://www.digitalspy.com/a33670805/mulan-disney-plus-streaming-release-apple-roku/

They don't seem too concerned if Mulan is going to be a failure...
