I expect it to comfortably cross 40K today and 60K by end of day tomorrow. Should end up around 110K final which would normally translate to 5.5m previews but this seems to skew MTC1. Let us see how things go. Its going to be front loaded though outstanding reviews could potentially help with walk ups. But there is HBO Max access which limits walkups. I am not sure where it ends up at this point. 

110 seems like a lot from only 12k in the last 4 days. That would require really high bumps.

I would keep expectations in check on the IM. 10x previews would be very unlikely at this stage.

Yeh didn’t Black Widow only do 6.1x it’s previews? 
 

A new WB/HBOMax record would be better for the headlines I guess ($32m+).

Hard to see this going below 3M at this point unless it has a horrendous last 2 days. Whether or not it can do 4M depends how much it ramps up. BW went 1.82x from here, F9 2.29x, AQP2 2.34x, and Hobbs 3.26x(in comparable theaters with 650 tickets). Should do better than Black Widow, highly doubt it'll get close to Hobbs. We'll see how it fares against F9 and AQP2.

A theater removed their Thursday showings, that's why the amount added doesn't add up with yesterday. They removed 13 seats sold, and something like 600 seats available.

Same story here. They removed 8 seats sold and about 1400 seats available.

Some showings were removed, and a theater added back. Once again, that's why I put the added amount of seats even though the overall decreased.

You are probably right. But this forum has been so toxic about this movie(look at the thread title for SS), I wanted to be the optimistic one. At times I feel best thing is to stay out of this place. I am too old for for the fanboy wars going around.

So Shang Chi's tickets should theoretically go on sale this week, right? I think Black Widow did there's a month from release.

 

Encanto will pobably destroy the competition. It's biggest competitors will be Eternals and Ghostbusters.

Being overly optimistic isn’t really going to help with toxicity though? At least, I can’t see a causal mechanism there. If a movie is heading for a number that would be disappointing, then better to set low expectations in advance and let people recalibrate gradually vs being shocked and disappointed all at once?
