So The Greatest Showman is getting two screens instead of Jumanji this weekend and keeping the second biggest auditorium throughout next week? :winomg:

Quote

Jumanji, starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas, is looking to be one of the biggest releases of the holiday season. The film debuts in 3,765 locations tomorrow and Mojo's comps suggest a $64-78 million six-day opening is a possibility, well ahead of Sony's expectation for a $45 million six-day bow, which is more in line with current tracking.

Per BOM. $64M would be very strong, while $78M would be absolutely insane.

Christmas openers

Jumanji 346 1633 21.19%
Greatest Showman 126 1349 9.34%
Father Figures 2 142 1.41%
Pitch Perfect 3 74 142 52.11%

PP3 and Father Figures only have Thursday showtimes up so far. Downsizing also has a Thursday preview (weirdly, its Thursday preview is in one of the larger auditoriums), but it hasn't sold anything yet. Jumanjji and Showman lost a morning show on a couple of days, which is why the total seats section is slightly smaller. Jumanji seems to be doing alright, and Greatest Showman doesn't look too shabby either.

Jumanji 398 1775 22.42%
Greatest Showman 200 1846 10.83%
Downsizing 7 1167 0.60%
Father Figures 4 1207 0.33%
Pitch Perfect 3 184 2080 8.85%

With some updates, Jumanji is trucking along decently, while Greatest Showman got quite a massive boost. In the case of Pitch Perfect 3, it's doing well, but it seems very frontloaded. At the moment, Thursday has the most tickets sold, followed by Friday, then by Monday (duh, it's Christmas), then Saturday, and Sunday has sold nothing (duh, it's Christmas Eve). It could change as time goes on, but this seems like a film that will be fan-driven and on the frontloaded side in terms of holds, though obviously still very strong holds being that it is the holiday.

Jumanji is running at 65% of Coco (8.6M OD; 33M 3 day; 47.4M 5 day) and 300% of Ferdinand (10.8M OD; 40.2M 3 day). Keep in mind public schools in the area aren't out until Thursday, so Ferdinand is probably a better comp.

Showman is...... not looking great! That's only 7% of Coco (900k OD lmao) and a third of Ferdinand (1.2M OD)!

Nothing official yet, but it's been selling very well on Pulse for this weekend and could crack a 100k PTA in 9 theaters.

That bodes really well when it go wide in January. Is it expanding in the coming weeks or just the 9 then fully wide on the 12th
