Yeah, those are the #'s I've been getting from this data as well, much to even my shock. This thing better perform nothing like an SW film at all, or shit's about to get UGLY.

Yep, would not be pretty...

 

However, what if the US/Canadian general public decides to boycott Solo and insteads goes to watch DP2 and IW? Imagine that, Solo debuts 3rd with $50m because IW had a 70% increase and DP2 dropped just 30%. 

 

THAT would be more exciting than Solo over performing imo

How is Deadpool 2 still on top of Solo on The Pulse :ph34r:

 

But I just did a Pulse count and it did 25 sets in a minute 

*For comparison around this time last week DP2 was averaging 60 sets a minute 

@TalismanRing has data for other films 

 

Edit just did another check and it was at 34 sets. I thought I made a mistake in my original one but I guess it's averaging 25-35 sets a minute I would assume 

 

Edit again; I think my Fandango tracker is broken. I get up to 45 sets one minute, 25 sets another....so maybe disregard my data or maybe someone else can check and see what they're getting.

So it's DP2 1476 and Han Solo 1128...still not yet passing DP2 in presales about 26 hours before release...

That's pretty nice for The Incredibles. Depending on how weak the openers are next week (and they looking pretty damn weak), I wonder if it'll make an appearance on movietickets top 5.

Not that it really makes a huge difference, but I've noticed something odd with that Fandango tracker.  Namely that the numbers for the immediate previous hour can sometimes go up when the next hour's count rolls in.

 

For instance when it first pops up, it might say:

 

10:00.00 Foo Fighters 8: The Apocalypse is Nigh 72

 

but an hour later it might say:

 

11:00.00 Foo Fighters 8: The Apocalypse is Nigh 101

....

....

....

10:00.00 Foo Fighters 8: The Apocalypse is Nigh 94

 

Not sure why the scripting would do that, but it's something I've noticed the last few days.  Pretty sure anything two hours or older doesn't get adjusted upwards though.

To have tracked that website a little bit myself and talked with the guy that provided us that running script.

 

Fangando update a variable on is website everytime they sell 1000 ticket, it can take 20 minutes it can take more than a hours a 4:00 am.

 

So the last hours show can update itself a couple of times (I think that script check every 5 minutes or so to see if fandango variable updated itself) and will add the new latest 1000 sales, using the saletimes variable to attribute it to the good hours category we see, counting them as they come.

 

You can see fluctuation for that reason, but the last 1,000 sales to enter will not have very old sales in them, so has you say the older hours will not move.

Well, this doesn't account for prior pre-sales. 

 

But yeah - mid teens looks to be the high end for preview numbers.  If so it's going to need a nice 8+ MD w/e multiplier rather than the usual SW ones to hit anything close to $130m 3/Day and around a 6.5-7+ to be over $100m
