Deadpool was selling pretty well in Tallahassee yesterday, but it's been fucking DEAD tonight. Considering this is a college town with most finals over today, the drop just shows how fanboy frontloaded it is. It wouldn't surprise me if today's drop is 40%+

Based on how much this is skewing towards Dolby and what sales for late shows are, this isn't behaving like a typical family movie. About 70% of sales so far have come from Dolby and IMAX. Compared to Ralph (30% but there was only one Dolby show due to Creed) and The Grinch (45%), that's a lot. Keep in mind that The Grinch had horrible preview sales here with one IMAX show not even selling any seats.

Not for this theater no. I glanced what ME was doing locally and it was around two thirds of Overlord and Dragon Tattoo (prolly double darkest minds lmao)

I can attest to my theater acting strangely with Spider-Verse. Stuff like Grinch and Ralph barely sold anything past 9 PM, but Spider-Verse has about 11 tickets sold for the 10:40 show tonight (maybe more, since I last checked it about 4 hours ago), and 19 tickets for 9:10, as well as 6 for 10:15 on Friday. Animated movies typically don't even have showtimes that go past 9:30 PM.

It's not strange...it's how I thought it would play - it's definitely playing to its underlying comic fan base and they are showing for later shows (while the 5pms didn't really draw for families, although those are tough times for almost all movies;)...

It looks like Homecoming/Venom would be good comps for Spider-Verse.

FWIW, my theater sold the most tickets tonight for the 5 PM show. Maybe I'm an outlier, but this still might see a decent family draw regardless.

Looking at the presales, I think Aquaman will come in second on Saturday even though it only has shows at 7pm. A lot of theaters near me have added a 4th show now and even those are selling well. I think it will need about 4M from the Amazon Prime shows to come in second on Saturday.

It finished at 80% of Overlord (8.2M) and 115% of Spider's Web (9M). This is pretty pathetic, but Universal already took the L. Better luck with Glass!
