It's weird how people put their personal feelings before facts and numbers in a Box Office discussion forum. Justice League was the first commercial flop in the DCEU. The franchise was having a great run at the box office before they took the movie from Zack Snyder. I don't know why we're still having this discussion. I'm just glad the people responsible for ruining Justice League are gone and Zack Snyder is back working in Wonder Woman 2. This movie will be a massive hit.

He is not directing which is fucking good since we do not have that person who has done great damage to the DCEU.

Yes it will...and it won't be thanks to Snyder.

People love blaming all of Justice League on Whedon to act as if Zack Snyder was gonna deliver something special like give me a damn break.

Also BvS wasn't a box office faulure in any sense but a movie with first cinematic appearances of several iconic a-list superheros and didn't even reach 900M overall

That do sound really ridiculous, even if they would be right how would someone possibly be able to know something like that...

I think you could create a consensus around BvS being an ok box office because of it<s monster opening while being a box office legs failure:

If we look at the top global opening:

It is one of the best ever #7, but you need to go down to #20 to see a movie making less than 880m I think, only 3 others movies on that list didn't reach the billion ( I went just by look /memory could be missing one here), the extremely front loaded and impossible to bring new fan on board at this point twilight part 2/Harry Potter sequel #a lot and an other bad legs disaster Spider Man 3, also quite deep in it's run.

BVS's 874 is 3.5x it's 250 prod budget. It obviously didn't loose any money and was a good hit.

330.3*0.55 + 447.5*0.33 + 95.8*0.25 = 353+ in theatrical revenue alone approx. Covers the prod budget and some of marketing budget.

It had a strong run on home media and rentals, merchandising and must have made healthy profits.

But for that film to fall so short of 1b is still laughable.

If WONDER WOMAN 1984 is the title (seems like it is indeed as WB have wonderwoman1984.com bought but not wonderwoman84) I love it. Blade Runner vibes

So it’ll be Atomic Blonde but without the nudity and with (probably) inferior action scenes?

upside: a much more coherent plot

Wonder if there's something specific in 84 they're gonna build it around or if it's just a random mid-80s year thing

Soviets boycotting L.A. Olympics?
