True but it had the reviews and, let's just be totally honest here, gender politics in its corner (with a shade of "Fuck Cameron!") to override its BO performance.

That's all true. I don't think Detroit quite feels like it's another Hurt Locker but I'm just waiting to see how the campaign goes for it and how the November and December Oscar bait is received.

Bigelow had her moment and she's made the most of it since. Don't see any additional Oscars (or even nominations, honestly) in her future. Always found it very telling that she got snubbed for Zero Dark Thirty.

I like zero dark thirty much more than hurt locker, I see the snub of zero dark 30 as the "replacement" for her undeserving sweeping won for hurt locker

Yeah I saw the Zero Dark Thirty snub as proof that she wasn't going to become an Oscar darling. It's kind of like with Jessica Chastain where she's a great actress and people keep predicting her to get all these nominations and she doesn't. It's the director version of that. Of course Chastain has gotten multiple nominations so it's not the exact same thing.

Dear admins/mods (@Squadron Leader Tele, @Water Bottle, @Stutterng baumer Denbrough),

Can we pretty, pretty, please (ever-so-kindly) re-instate format retention for formatted stuff that is copy and pasted? Whenever I paste any of my info/lists since the update, the formatting (bold, italics, colours, etc) is still lost, which makes it really cumbersome to have to re-do all of the formatting within the post. It makes a big difference. :(:(:(

Peace,

Mike

Dunkirk's Sunday drop looks a bit generous to me as well assuming the Sat # is correct. Not sure if they're just shifting around stuff because because I noticed a revised Friday estimate too

Valerian with a -10% Sunday hold. Are they being serious?

7 VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETSSTX Entertainment3,553 $1,840,000+38.6% / $518$25,666,147 / 8 $2,610,000+41.8% / $735$28,276,147 / 9 $2,350,000-10% / $661$30,626,147 / 1

Remember when Disney had that ridiculous 11% or so Sunday projection for Cars 3? I have no idea why these studios do such a thing.

Holy Hera!! Wonder Woman has had nothing but amazing weekend drops. Nine whole weeks of release and not a single drop above 43 %!!!

Does any post-DCEU/MCU superhero film come even close to that?

So proud of my girl!!!!!!!!  :insane:
