It's a shame that War for the Planet of the Apes didn't do as spectacular as we thought it would despite very high praise from critics & audience alike. 😞

You got other animal/creature-feature films that did very well on their own in the past years, like Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island & even the biggest one of all: Jurassic World.

Very saddening that WFTPOTA didn't do bigger numbers, and not live to its huge box office potential. 😥

By the time August usually rolls around, I'm just more excited for the September/October slate more than anything, last year was pretty good (especially September IMO) but this year looks even better.

Not just in terms of a quality standpoint of films I want to see, but also from the potential for box office breakouts and truly great runs to follow.

I think WB will have a solid second place this year. $1.12B is the current total (assuming WW adds another $10M). Let's say for the fall Annabelle does $65M, Ninjago does $120M, and IT does $150M, Blade Runner does $100M and Geostorm does $50M, WB is at $1.6B If JL does $400M, and Bastards brings in $50M, the total is $2.05B

I imagine Bastards is going to flop even with December legs, it's clear WB is dumping it.

You forgot Blade Runner 2049 which WB has domestic distribution, that'll probably do $90-100m domestic.

Can $330M+ happen for Homecoming? I guess it depends on Labor Day weekend?

I doubt it. It would need WW legs here in Aug to do that.. these are rare..

I think its still on track to do 325 mil

Yeah, it's slightly below what I was expecting, but it's actually a good hold.
