I was only able to catch 2 (out of 6) reserved seating showing for Tulip Fever right up until the final moment.  Very disappointed in myself.

4:35 pm - $8.00 a ticket,  15 seats sold. = $120

5:30 pm - $22.50 a ticket, 25 seats sold.  = $562.50

^^there is an 8:15 showing for the $22.50 showing I will try to catch.  This is the expensive theater where The Shack outsells Logan, Miss Sloane nearly sell out, and so does Light Between Oceans.  The 8:15 showing could potentially see up to 1 grand in ticket sales.

8:15 showing - 25 seats sold (out of 84).  $22.50 a pop.  $562.50.  Just like 5:30 pm.  This is bad....  If it cannot get a weekend PTA similar to Miss Sloane, it might miss 1M

Harry Styles could have had two movies in theaters this weekend! Weinstein explains (back in 2014, lol):

Quote

Weinstein told MailOnline: 'I offered Harry a role in Tulip Fever but he was touring so he had to turn it down.

'The part ended up going to Matthew Morrison and let me tell you this, the very first scene he shot was one of him kissing Cara Delevingne.'

He jokingly added:  'So I'm sure Harry won't be turning be down the next role I offer him.'

Quote

When asked what it is about Harry that made him reach out and offer such a prestigious debut, Harvey enthused: 'He's like Errol Flynn, he's got that swashbuckling charm. Definite star potential. I think he'd be great. No question.'

Amazing, he wasn't cast in Dunkirk for another two years and that still got made/released before Tulip Fever!

They simply don't sell well in many countries, it does depend on the market though. Girls Trip did decently in the UK as did Hidden Figures. Black Panther will be a hit because it's a superhero film.

Black led films do well in English language countries, otherwise they don't tend to make much of an impact in non English speaking countries, basically.

I'm really happy Annabelle Creation has done so well. I thought the film was great.

Solid for Hitmans Bodyguard too, although I don't fancy it.

Come on IT, the world is waiting for you!

Thank GOD that at least all the holdovers are gonna have great holds. Makes perfect sense tbh, due to how backloaded last weekend was (Mayweather vs. McGregor + Hurricane Harvey taking its biggest toll).

Especially glad for Wind River's strong increase (also, Despicable Me 3 and Homecoming increasing on their own too.... say what you will about the movies, but it's undeniable that their legs were terrific - and the "no competition" excuse doesn't work all that well because Emoji had little impact in DM3's run). Leap having the smallest drop in the top 10 is actually not too surprising but still impressive (I don't buy Logan Lucky doing the same 4.1M for the 3-day weekend though, as it has a smaller Friday than Leap and animated movies tend to have bigger increases on Saturday).

If anything, It will come to help. As both are WB horror releases. double features will be quite plentiful.
