Tbh for the longest time I thought waterbeds were something that just existed in movies. Never seen one in real life.

Yeah, I've never seen one either. There's one in The Ice Storm and it's so loud and the characters are actively acknowledging how terrible it is when they're on it. What a weird phase of bedroom furnishing.

rewatched incredibles since i'm finally seeing the new one tomorrow and i hadn't seen it in at least a decade. that movie's visuals aged. it looks like a bleeding asshole today. and i rewatched the iron giant a couple months ago and that animation holds up great. no wonder brad bird originally wanted to do incredibles in 2D.

I find it ironic the “Eighth Grade” movie is rated R.

Since it’s supposed to be an accurate portrayal of middle school, the MPAA is pretty much saying Middle school isn’t appropriate for middle schoolers (may not be entirely inaccurate)

This is what sucks about R ratings. Stuff like this, Edge of Seventeen, and Lady Bird are all movies underage adolescents can handle (the sex scene in the last one might keep that R tho), and they'd be grossing more if the MPAA allowed them to be PG-13. Hell, kids are shouting the n-word on video games online.

I don’t think the Lady Bird sex scene is anything worse than what you see in a PG-13 movie that watched their language.

I think I remember even Philomena nearly got an R rating, but that was back when Weinstein had power so he lobbied against it.

The MPAA is a trash rating system.  Common Sense Media is much better, but good luck getting the official rating system changed.

I bet most 13 year olds watch porn already.

It's so damn good. Clooney's facial expressions are incredible.

When @aabattery is told that the local theater doesn't have the latest Denzel movie, but has a Wesley Snipes joint instead
