Here's some shit that blows my mind.  LOGAN opened up to $88M.   Fucking Logan.  Yes,  excellent movie and Wolverine's farewell but still.  Justice League will barely crack Logan.

Here's another one.   X2.   Opened to $85M.  14 fucking years ago.

Here's another.   X-Men: The Last Stand.  A total piece of shit.  Ratner is a complete hack. Damn near ruined the X-franchise.  THAT movie opened to $102M 11 years ago.

Justice League will open under X-Men: The Last Stand.

The Last Stand's huge opening came off the popularity of X-Men and X-Men II.      Like BvS it poisoned the well for the next film

The combination of it and Wolverine Origins  is what caused harm to the X-Men franchise that resulted in opening in the $50s for both First Class in Wolverine

Even DOFP  eight years after Last Stand couldn't make more domestic unadjusted - and then without the returning old cast the series fell again.

The most disappointing thing this weekend is Justice League may bring Thor 3 below a 300m domestic finish. That would suck.

How?

It'll be at $246m-$247m by the end of the weekend. By the end of next weekend, it'll likely be around $280m with Thanksgiving. It's definitely hitting $300m.

Man if this number holds I could see the hardcore DC fans making a gif of a certain scene from this movie and replacing a face with the RT logo. They are going to be even more furious with critics and completely blame them for this.

This goes way beyond the critics. Absolutely terrible movies (hi Transformers franchise) have still banked big $$$ even when critics took those films behind the barn and shot'em dead.  I think BvS used up all of the goodwill of the general audience and JL's marketing and trailers looked to be no different than what came before. When I saw JL's trailers I still saw the same filtered, dark, murky action scenes that plagued BvS and gave me the harsh flashbacks of sitting through that film. I think even if this film scored a 70+ percentage of RT we'd still be looking at roughly the same box office result.

If it does $90m-$93m...I'm expecting no more than $225m at best. I think $210m is where it'll land.

This movie is gonna end up doing no more than $650m worldwide. It won't crack the top 100 worldwide. Let that sink in for a moment.

that's getting uncomfortably close to TA's ow. if ow comes down to 90, then 2.3x takes it to that territory (207.5).

Maybe the audience didn't like WW much and it was success because it was released in the right time and circumstances? Any popular character adds bucks to crossover, it's not possible that it didn't add anything, but also dropped hard with other popular characters.

The fact that this has a chance (albeit small) at missing $200m with a $90m OW is insane.

Honestly, I hope this can save some face until Star Wars. Having this open the week before thanksgiving makes me pretty confident that this could do close to a 2.5 multiplier. 220-240M is where it should end up... I hope.

But now you have the story of Wonder. That's bound to have great WOM and legs if that A+ CS is any indication. And then you have Coco which doesn't look like it's another Good Dinosaur for Pixar.

Via Deadline the number for under 25 demo is pretty low.....and that's some major competition coming in (since Wonder isn't going to be a rush out and see thing). Are families really going to choose JL over those? And as far as women, who gave WW such strong legs....I can't see that happening again here.

The news about the change in costumes and shots seems to have already left a bad tastes in their mouths.

But maybe Saturday will be much stronger this weekend. But I think this is in trouble as far as legs.
