JL is probably having the worst CBM OW ever in relation to the expectations of what it should be doing. Superman Returns is the only other one I can think of that comes close on that front.

Gavin O'Connor is directing. Looking at his track record, in terms of directing, he has 3 fresh movies and 2 rotten ones (highest is 82% and lowest is 35%). Could go either way for SS2...hoping for the best though.

 

Edit: Definitely has a better track record than Ayer.

I think it has the chance to go higher because it should do alright with the GA (especially kids) but man, I wasn't expecting the numbers to be this low after seeing the screenings last night.

Dude's a boring pick, I feel like they picked him because he's quite the opposite of a stylistic director.  We all know how that worked out for JL when they made it as style-less as possible.
