You thought right, those Aquaman numbers are just for its opening day, Dec 26th. Extraordinarily, some cinema owners actually expressed surprise at its success; apparently, they thought Ralph would top the day's takings! Such a level of cluelessness is practically congenital.

aquaman treats it's CG like CG supplementing a scene. Bumblebee uses CGI for a character like it's Toothless i.e. using character animation as an asset. if i was to count any movie that had CGI as animation, then literally every thing budgeted over 15M these days would be a cartoon

Lol what? That makes no sense at all. Aquaman needed CGI as much as Bumblebee did. I mean, Bumblebee could  have also worked with practical effects just like the Trex from Jurassic Park if you think about it.

I might find the time to watch it this week too. Got a bit wary based on some reactions of non-fanatics I trust a bit more. Son is not convinced for now, hubby refuses SH/action/Sci-Fi/Fantasy/.... complete, friends are mostly on vacation, might have to watch it alone.
