What an absolute waste of a Christmas release slot. Another studio should have counterprogrammed it with...something.

At least we know why they ran like scared rabbits from the Avatar 2 slot last year.

I think the strike really saved Aquaman. It went late enough that people committed to moving out of 2023 and people weren't racing to audible. Seems like downsides for a failed rushed Christmas release are larger than just waiting and exploiting a strike created content gap in 2024.

Warner's the one that wanted it out of the way as soon as they could, for they have a franchise reboot they need to get into. At least the nature of the holiday corridor will prevent it from being a Marvels-level nuclear bomb. And it's not like they're betting it all on it either, as both Wonka and Colour Purple were placed near it as backup options. That was definitely a wise choice considering Disney betting it all on Wish blew up in their faces, and Wonka is doing very well.

They didn't run from Avatar lol both this and The Flash moved due to VFX. It was always announced (since 2019) for xmas 2022. Wan and WB wanted the xmas slot again so if it wasn't 2022, would be 2023.

Black Adam was also on the same day as Avatar in 2021 and it only moved due to Covid.

216M already, yeah seems like 350M is happening, maybe even 400M if it doesn’t completely collapse in a few days

It’s bad but well at least it won’t be even top 5 bombs of the year lol

It will be at $251M through Sunday

If this movie makes more than 400 million and remotely close to 500 million worldwide, I guess James Gunn will be talking about another Aquaman movie even if it's set in the "Elseworlds". I wouldn't mind another Aquaman with Momoa and the rest of the gang.

We're not getting an Aquaman 3

This film pretty much wrapped the whole thing well. Aquababy lived. Orm was redeemed. Atlantis is safe. Mera exists.
