The numbers I am getting are $40-41.5mn True Friday. This was looking bit lower an hour back but improved a bit now.

 

That said opening day around $60.75-62.25mn, though there still a lot time that's remaining so things could change a bit.

 

I will update once more around 3 hours from now and the final number around 5 hours from now. Till then this is what I have.

I just got home from watching this movie. My initial reaction is I like this film. It has more of a sci-fi Star Trek-y feeling to it, moreso than a superhero movie, until the end. But, Captain Marvel ties a lot of loose ends to some of the most asked questions in the MCU. Everybody did a really good job, except for the director. It's definitely a solid 7/8 out of 10 movie, which coincides with the RT score. Lol

 

But that mid-credits scene, though ... Oh man!
