It played a role as the mcu fanbase also turned out for the film too

The MCU fan base was turning out for the movie regardless. Similar to how they’re turning out for Captain Marvel. And what I mean by that is the hardcore MCU fans know BP and CM are part of the MCU. They don’t need intros in other movies in order for them to want to watch these films.

And on the other side of it, you have a character like Ant-Man in which Marvel tried to tie to IW and what not but that didn’t help the sequel explode at the box office (Its Box office was still great btw I’m just saying in comparison to BP and CM)

Basically what I expect now is

20.7

43-44

54-57

37-41

155-163

GOTG2 sunday was 39, while CM had a much higher Friday (and previews)

It's also not a sequel

I don't see it dropping below GOTG2 on sunday

So 200M OW is dead? 😞

Incredibles 2 managed 634M dom off 182.6M OW. Surely CM can managed over 500M with 160M+?

I don't think CM can reach 3x since the OW is probably a little inflated by the buzz around the character... but probably will pass $ 400M

I know this is mostly a joke, but those would be really bad legs for KoTM if it opens at 80 million.
