Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore | April 15, 2022 | Final Trailer on Page 75

Set to return are Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald along with Ezra Miller (Credence / Aurelius Dumbledore), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein).

They learned nothing from the second movie's floppage

Finally something. Yeah Steve Kloves getting a co-write credit is a strong sign that they're making the right moves here. Though while I think he did great on the Potter movies, I'd prefer someone else take a shot. But overall, good.

I'm back on board. Yes the second one was a disappointment and the ONLY Harry Potter universe movie that wasn't great but it can get worse right?

Getting Steve Kloves back is huge.

Kloves was working with the novels before. Not Rowling’s new bullshit stories

and the original dialogue/moments Kloves added to the film honestly were usually cringe

Blaming FB 2's drop on Johnny Depp is absurd to say the least.

Not only was there no negative reaction to him - on the contrary, he was well received - but it would be absolutely moronic to change the actor of your main villain right in the middle of the story without having any proper way to explain it in the movie.

Maybe it's you who didn't learn anything from the second movie, because Depp should be the least of their worries.

The second one disappointed critically and at the BO. The only way is up

the totals of the first two in the US lines up with the totals of Days of Future Past and Apocalypse so there's no reason to think this movie can't Dark Phoenix.

Kloves did a good job with the Potter movies, but he had much stronger material to work with then he has here. The basic problem is that Rowlings new charecters, story  and settings are simply not as good as in the Potter novels. Even if Rowling is out of the actual script writing (a good move) you still have to deal with the weaknesses of the story and charecters for FB.

This is good news. Steve Kloves being a co-writer is a big step in the right direction, and  assigning a co writer to assist Rowling is something they should've done since the beginning. New regime starting up at Warner Brothers and hopefully that means course correction across the board. I imagine this movie will be an improvement quality-wise over the second one, box office wise it might take a dip and of course that is dependent on the budget they give this but to say it will outright flop seems a bit presumptuous at the moment. And why do some of y'all keep thinking this is gonna be like Dark Phoenix? Different franchise with it's own victories and turbulence's to contend with, not really comparable to this one in my opinion.
