Anyone esle miffed about Hollands Spidey. He has the potential to be a fantastic Spidey but it seems like MCU/Feige and Co. want him to become Iron Man Jr. instead of SPIDER-MAN. So much potential wasted i want Holland to be Spidey like Maguire, Garfield with a a NORMAL SUIT and not some iron man spidey suit :whosad:

You'll probably be happy with Kevin Feige's recent comment about the next Spidey film then:

"It’ll be fun to see Spidey back in his element, out of the shadow of Tony, out of the shadow of the other Avengers, as his own man now, as his own hero.  And yet now facing his own challenges that aren’t coming from Avengers fighting, like Civil War, or aliens coming, like Infinity War or Endgame. It’s all Peter focused and Peter based.”

Good. Seems like the natural progression.

You'll probably be happy with Kevin Feige's recent comment about the next Spidey film then:

Hopefully this means a suit with no gadgets and not so much CGI.

What interview is that from?

Nah, I'm actually miffed by those who want the same version of something they've seen before. I understand if one might not like the Iron Man connection but I certainly wouldn't want to see another "Spidey like Maguire", as I've always found him to be the most bland and boring version of the character. But if one prefers that version or wants to see Uncle Ben or red-haired MJ, the Raimi movies are there to watch and enjoy as much as one likes.

I like that this version of Spider-Man is different, that he doesn't look or feel like a version of the character I've already seen in live action. I'd say this is one if the reasons these first two movies have been successful. Holland also brings a level of charm and vulnerability that makes Peter more lovable and sympathetic than he's ever been, imo.

Grace Randolph has tweeted asking why no one is actually talking about Far From Home, despite it opening well.

6 Day Opening may have something to do with it. Then again this is the same person that insisted Homecoming underperformed even knowing it hadn't been released in China or Japan yet.

Awesome to see Spider-Man making it to $185 million in spite of its OD and many going into panic mode. Also very happy to finally have a movie not underperform and play exactly like people expected it to play (many called 180-200 going into last week and my number was 185 million, so I'm seriously shocked it did exactly that over these 6 days).

Now let's see the legs, and based on how it played (it wasn't frontloaded) I have a feeling we'll have a good run to look forward to. Too soon of course to accurately pinpoint where it will end up, but I'm fairly confident now that it will be $370+ million in North America.

MIB is gonna do 80-85 dom with 180-185 odd OS ("$3.7M intl weekend (65 markets); $172.5M intl cume" - Deadline) for 260-270 ww on 110 prod budget (with Deadline claiming the real number is rumoured to be around 90, even lower than reported for whatever inexplicable reason). Dom is an under-performance and it had the potential to cross 100 dom and 200 os for 300 ww, but Sony won't loose on this.
