The 70's imo, was the best decade for horror.  The 80's started off really strong for the first five years but then went down hill from there.  The 70's were strong from beginning to end.

One of the great things about revisiting an entire decade is that you get to go back and kind of ReDiscover a lot of the films that you haven't seen in ages. Sounds like five easy pieces, a lot of the dirty Harry movies, mean Streets taxi driver and so many more are films that I'm going to probably watch again over the next month or so.

Well true, but lots of famous directors did stuff for TV in the 1970s and 1980s.

 

I figure that if someone wants to use their vote on a TV show and no one else agrees with them, nothing is lost (except for that person who used a vote on a TV show).

What do you make of the works for television that Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Ingmar Bergman and Krzysztof Kieślowski made? True, they do get theatrical releases as well, but they were made for television.

I saw it in ~ 6 parts, maybe they cut it differently for different markets? Aired it as doubles? Not sure, maybe I had the VHS of then??? Can't remember that detail, if it was as VHS then I saw it later than I think that I saw it as the first one I owned was whilst living in another city.

Beside that, nearly 12h, that is ~ the limit for what I call still a mini-series, as then at least the usual series had 22 to 26# episodes per season (at least those where  I watched wnough of them to be aware of the count)

You're not taking lists or writing the write-ups, are you?

 

I don't anticipate any TV movies making it on though. But there is some original TV material from the 80s I would allow on a 80s list, partly because they got theatrical releases in other places.

 

Spielberg's Duel was released theatrically in other countries, too.
