Deadline estimates last night were way off. They had Knives Out over a million higher than it finished

and after 3.4 Tue had Frozen at 3.5 (+3%) instead of 4.1 (+21%).

What do you guys think about the outcome of the DOM vs. OS battle? Could be quite close. DOM might have the edge in my opinion.

Hard to say

TROS did 15 millions on Christmas Eve and 16 on chrsitmas day but those are very weak days oversea.

We will have to wait Thursday numbers to have a trend

Movies in most countries tend to have worse legs for blockbusters than NA. Though opening in additional territories might cancel this effect. I guess after NY OS will be ahead, but not by much.

Edit: Yay, 3000 posts! :D

My bad I didn't realised it's dropping 1400 theatres. I just went with % increase in same theatres.

I wonder how well it can hold, the PTA is amazing for a movie out for a month.

Congrats for your 20 000th like! :)

Average TP in Germany is just ridiculous. There's been damage done, that, if ever, needs years to make up for.

Forced 3D and those TP surpassing Inflation by huge margins are to blame for the horrible loss of admissions.

Theaters made it incredibnly easy for Netflix and other streaming services.

Growth for Av TP pretty much tripled inflation over here in the last 10 years.

‘Bad Boys For Life’ To Seize $40M+ Over MLK Holiday – Box Office Forecast

Universal also has the very expensive $175M reboot Dolittle starring Robert Downey Jr. as the doctor who can talk to animals over the holiday weekend. Tracking spots that pic’s opening at $25M-$30M over the 4-day stretch.
