There's a difference.

Nah, WB is a streamer pretending to be a studio pretending to be a streamer

HALLOWEEN will see a boost next weekend though, don't forget

Not enough for the 100M since it will drop like a rock after Sunday. I fully expect a 80%+ drop on the following weekend.

HBO Max could be a top level streamer if the app properly functioned. It's a damn shame.

Meanwhile Halloween is having horrendous results in Europe. Shame about the Peacock launch, it is a affecting it a ton internationally.

It’s not just the piracy factor, it’s also been getting pushed into the smallest auditoriums due to Bond, Venom and now Dune. In the UK it was in small to mid size screens even on opening weekend, with barely half the screenings of Venom/Bond.

Although that said, Halloween has always made most of its money domestically, so the Europe numbers aren’t overly surprising.

WB is totally gonna give a 40M OW estimate.

See SnokeLegs post for some context here in the UK at least.

Yeh, Halloween Kills had plenty of sell outs last weekend because it was in the small rooms and still did £1.6m, only a few hundred thousand less than The Conjuring 3. Context is key.

Halloween is a movie that it'll make a profit from domestic alone so the OS numbers are just gravy. Universal probably weren't happy it got smaller auditoriums in the UK but there wasn't much they could do with such a crowded release schedule.

Yeh they got screwed over too, as Halloween Kills had that date first before Venom moved into it.

$73.1m for Halloween Kills. I’m guessing it’ll finish around $88-90m. More than 4x it’s production budget. So Universal won’t be worried and Halloween Ends will be full steam ahead.
