Pitiful rate. What is happening? Reviews are good enough, so I guess interest in DC is just pathetically low rn

Reviews are average at best (or at least too meh to really move the needle)

It will rely mostly on WOM to carry it during week 2 and on

I guess people need to put respect to Dwayne Johnson's name.

He's a legit movie star if Flash opens to anyways near Black Adam.

WB filled Flash with every padding possible while Black Adam had only him.

I know people don't want to hear this, but.

If Cavill's return as Superman was in a film facing off with The Rock as Black Adam?

$150m opening weekend.

Don't normally do final day mid-day updates for Q&D's, but...

Quick and Dirty Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Sacto Report [T-0 - MID DAY]

3919/25812 [15.18% sold] [+487 tickets]

0.37817x the sales of TGM at T-0 Mid-Day                   [7.28m]

0.41296x the sales of JWD at T-0 Mid-Day                   [7.43m]

1.08260x the sales of Black Adam at T-0 Mid-Day       [8.23m]

0.90196x the sales of Wick 4 at T-0 Mid-Day               [8.03m]

1.15095x the sales of Fast X at T-0 Mid-Day                 [8.63m]

7.5m - 8.5m looks to be the range for right now, pending rest-of-sample walkups.

Quick and Dirty Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Sacto Report [T-0 - FINAL] [3:50 - 4:15]

4973/25812 [19.27% sold] [+1054 tickets]

0.37817x the sales of TGM at T-0                    [8.35m]

0.41296x the sales of JWD at T-0                    [8.16m]

1.08260x the sales of Black Adam at T-0        [8.41m]

0.90196x the sales of Wick 4 at T-0                [8.12m]

1.15095x the sales of Fast X at T-0                 [9.05m]

What a finish!  Walkup movies are walkup based, who knew?!?

Don't have all my bells and whistles to drill down deeply on 3D and PLF and all the rest so let's just go with 8.25m +/- .4m.

(and if you had told me that at the beginning of this pre-sales I wouldn't have believed you)

((I also would have started cursing profusely, but that's besides the point))

Rise of the Beasts Walk Up sales update

Milton, Ontario

Surprisingly strong sales today.

That Fast X comp was 0.434x as of this morning for $3.25M. With the early show about to close , without further walk ups to the late show, its now at 0.700 of Fast X for $5.25M. That'll go up as well as I got final late show numbers. This is with Transformers only having one screen, compared to the two of Fast X.

This is one of the stronger walk up performances I've really seen. Maybe the smoke is pushing people to indoor activities. It's still only bringing this market closer to the standard.

I'll try and get final numbers at the end of the night.

Honestly, I think he may have problems in the foreign market, even in China he couldn't take the first place of films with greater interest on the Maoyan website. even with Transformers leaving the post for entering the box office and he being in second.

It was easily surpassed by the release of the film https://www.maoyan.com/films/1452790
It is important to note that this movie had almost 14k less interest in the month and it hits the market a few days after the flash release

Yeah, I guess it's all relative for a CBM to be frontloaded while something like Transformers, despite poor reviews and, if the early verified score of 83% with <50 reviews means anything, meh WOM, has great walk-up business. Hopefully it gets an A CS, but I could see The Flash getting an A- purely because of the awful CGI.

Is this including EA shows or is this just pure Thursday?

This feels like you should have tracked it normally :-) I agree with 8m+ number as well. Great final day for sure.

Looks like I'm back on the $8M+ train, say $8.2M. Absolutely did not expect that even a week ago. Highest non-family late growth rate since ... Shang-Chi (not quite on level of Venom 2, but not all that far off either)

Also, and I know this is due to EA (or lack of it) and also somewhat of a coincidence, but final ticket sales for samples:

  • Sacto = 4973
  • Drafthouse = 4693
  • Orlando = 4543
  • Jax/Pho/Ral = 4452

Just noting that because we've had a couple of metro over-indexes in a row, but that kind of balance makes me think we won't have a third

Right now, can we have some hope for $60M OW for Transformers?

I'd probably lean towards higher $50s, but a walk-up/casual audience friendly film can have a 7x+ IM in summer, so some hope for sure

If Transformer can pull off some nice late-surprise, there shouldn't have any denial for Flash to replicate that. I remember even Shazam 2 had some late come back and finish above 30m when tracking once indicated slightly above 20m OW.
