@M37 we’ve got basically no difference in projection (340ish vs 350ish) I just think tacking the previews on helps the old ones’ nums without corresponding to a real superiority in holding behavior.

To be clear, my range is currently $350-$360, depending on how the rest of the week plays out

And I understand about the growing snd differing preview share, but removing it also doesn’t seem right to me either

Yeah, it did. Correct.

Though somehow DH2 didn’t get to $400M+ DOM for some reason, despite it being treated as the finale of the Harry Potter-franchise. 😲

It’s not like the WOM of that film was horrific or bad, right? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Since it was the most critically-acclaimed of all the HP-films.

Potter pretty much had a dedicated fanbase in theaters from the first movie to the last. DH2 in terms of ticket prices and 3D upcharge ends almost exactly as Sorcerors/Philosophers Stone. It didn't expand it's audience much from the first movie because it was already huge to start with.

Maybe USA wasn't interested in HP enough to push it beyond a level.

Yeah and maintaining for that long was impressive but there were films doing 400M back then, so its not like it was maintaining close to ceiling.

Naah they were best thing ever from Hollywood.

No complains to Canada. Canada did fine.

Well that's obviously a matter of opinion. I liked maybe one or two of the movies and I thought the rest of them were either garbage or just okay. Everyone's got their own opinions of course

Nah, I would say the 2000s were better than the 2010s

2000s had LotR trilogy, 6 Potter movies, Avatar, Batman Begins+Dark Knight, peak Pixar, Pirates, 2 good Spiderman movies and 2 good X Men movies.

2010s had Planet of The Apes, Hunger Games, Mission Impossible 4-6 and a few good MCU movies

2000s is definitely better than 2010s. I measure how good is by how diverse the franchise and how many new IP was born.

2010s is just too much on MCU and a bit of DC. Other than that. I can’t hardly find any other new IP, let alone an original hit like avatar, I am legend, 300, or wars of the world.

SW , JW and FF doesn’t count, they born in 1970s , 1990s and 2000s.

And I have some Potter's praises from a box office standpoint many many times. But it obviously had a dedicated fan base and I don't really think it branched out much further than that. Same thing with twilight. There was a massive fan base that would show up for every movie and domestically and worldwide for Twilight the groceries were all really really similar with one another after the first movie of course.

Lightyear finally avoided a 64% weekend drop. Late legs incoming.

So I am here to see Elvis today and I'm in the city of Brampton which is a northern suburb of toronto. Brampton as some of you here would know is probably about 70 or 80% indian.

There is five or six hindi and or Punjabi movies playing here right now. When I say that there is a massive throng of Indians here today, young old male and female it would not be an exaggeration. Does anyone here know what really popular Punjabi or Hindi movies are playing right now?
