Oh man, despite the TV show ending, I quite enjoyed Fast X. Definitely MILES ahead of 8 and especially 9. And most of that is down to Momoa, who was a major highlight. Get part 2 done and out within 24 months and end the series on a high.

Congrats to Mario for passing the abomination that was 2019's TLK domestically for #14 all-time.

Anyone have its international breakdown after this weekend?

Pretty incredible holds for GotG and Mario. Really didn’t think GotG could manage sub 50% against the PLF/3D loss.

Feeling more confident in not throwing the towel in yet on Mario over I2. But I think it’s going to take some extra push from Universal, like a big expansion at some point. They prob don’t have a window until July though.

July/August have big budget movies as well. It would be tough to get PLF back. That said Mario does not need the PLF. There wont be that many empty weeks for sure. Equalizer opening labor day weekend. Peacock deal calls for movie to hit streaming 4 months after release and so not sure late expansion will add that much.

So I just found out that the new Fast and Furious movie released this weekend. The opening weekend numbers don't seem too shabby, considering how this is the 10th movie in the franchise. I'm guessing another financial win for Universal. The (Hoover Dam?) scene in the trailers looks really cool.
