I guess this is karma for all the Flash dunking. You killed that film, and now some QAnon propaganda is killing your film.

What is this even supposed to mean? Do you think box office hobbyists relentlessly mocking Flash’s epic flop had any kind of effect on its gross?

I don't think Dead Reckoning - Part 1 is going to flop but I never understood the absurd predictions for the movie. It is the 7th movie in a franchise which has never been particularly huge in the US, people are not going to suddenly go nuts for it. I always thought it would finish around $200-250m DOM range, worst case around $180-190m which I think with the WOM it is having it will at least reach that. I also think the "Part 1" aspect might have an effect.

Maybe I spend too much time on Twitter and TikTok but I think the Barbie/Oppenheimer weekend is going to be insane. It definitely feels like an event. At the end I think Warner Bros made Nolan a favor by releasing Barbie the same weekend cause people associate one movie with the other and I honestly feel like that alone will add $10-20m to the Oppenheimer DOM OW

Going to roll the dice at predicting Elemental's dailies again.

I think it will have a $1.70 million total for Wednesday

Charlie (or someone) already posted an Elementals estimate a few pages back from 2 hours ago...

Yeah WB wanted to fuck Nolan but in the end they did him a favor. Still Barbie itself is going fucking insane so realistically neither party's going to walk out of this disappointed. With how good the tracking numbers are WB must be getting ready to pop the champagne on this one.

Moderation

Not doing this “is Elemental a hit actually” stuff. Too early in the morning for this, and we all know it won’t lead to anything productive. If you really want to argue this, you can do it in the Elemental thread

Nope. This is a weekday box office thread, not the tracking thread.

"Is Elemental a hit" is a genuine box office discussion for an ongoing film, which we all do in these numbers thread. You can stop posters going the uncivil route, but asking to not discuss something is pretty dictatorial.

Honestly not bad? It would still be a better 5-days total than Fallout even on the low end. It obviously wouldn't match the total given the difference in competition, but it's a fine start for the franchise if it can do those numbers. But will the friday jump really be that good?

A 100% jump in the summer seems a bit of a reach but if there was a lack of awareness that it was a Wednesday opening it's certainly possible.

Not a fan of Warner's petty antics but even as a Nolan fan I have to admit Barbieheimer helps Oppenheimer way more than Barbie, especially with the abysmal marketing that Oppenheimer's doing.
