I don't know if I can watch this, the scarjo casting is just too horrendous. Would un-immerse me every time I see her dumb face.

Same here.

I would much rather see a proper Black Widow movie, which I feel would be a highly anticipated box office hit at this point.

And I say this as someone who never liked her being cast as BW and never was a fan of the actress.

I feel the same way. I won't be watching Ghost in the Shell. The casting is just off to me plus I don't think it looks THAT good. A Black Widow spin off would have been so much better imo.

A Black Widow would have been sooo much... worse! Not that Ghost in the Shell looks amazing but at least it's something a little bit different as opposed to yet another comic book adaptation.

GIAS is different? A film about a human-female-shaped robot that has, for all intents and purposes, all the abilities of your run-of-the-mill female superhero, and fights crime in a gritty urban landscape?

Ok.

Marvel is the Call of Duty of movies. You get at least one every year, it gets generally good reviews for a run-of-the-mill blockbuster, plenty of people are consuming it, taking away mind/dollar-share from other, superior stuff.

How's that for a swipe?

So Call of Duty games have the variety of Marvel (Dr. Strange, Civil War, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy)?

No they don't.

Marvel explores different sub genres and are critically and financially successful every time.

And lol @ at two movies per year taking away the limelight from better franchises.

If all it takes is two movies per year to completely eclipse your franchise then it probably wasn't that great to begin with.

Unless you're comparing MCU to Oscar bait which is apples to oranges not to mention a grievance with blockbusters in general.
