Avatar: The Way of Water | 16 DEC 2022 | Don't worry guys, critics like it

Its RT actualy that i can see nearing the 90s . It seems like the  majority of critics that had big issues with it or hated the first still had net positive experiences. In a film with good but weaker visual presentation and cinematic experience than A2 comparable complaints would push it to rotten in more critics that now will give it a passing grade. Cant see the "This is not good" share to be noticably over 1/10

I would wait until the server stabilizes to see where it actually lands. If it's 80 or lower, then yeah, this is definitely lower than pretty much all of us were expecting. Really weird to see some reviews like "Never bet against Cameron" or "blockbuster filmmaking and storytelling at its finest" and then it gets a 7 or 8/10 lol

There is nothing divisive about these scores so far. Movies in this range always have outliers, that doesn't make them divisive reviews. Divisive is something akin to a Halloween Kills, or something that skews way more negative. Even if this film was 60%+ on RT and Meteoritic that still wouldn't classify it as divisive. Let's all just calm down a bit.

why are british reviewers such weirdos, the same thing happenned with TGM to a lesser extent

edit: its not exactly that they dont like, its more about the things they complain about and how much they talk about what they wanted the movie to be instead of what it actually is

It's not really that wise to equip your servers to handle massive demand for like 2 hours a month into little demand all other times of the year.

Cloud scalability is hardly a foreign concept nowadays -- RT seemingly just doesn't care.

Social embargo reactions are getting less and less reliable as full representations of average critic scores.

Pretty good, but not game-changing reviews. I'm very interested in seeing if these will be enough to move the needle in the streaming age, where you need to be outstanding to truly make money in theaters. I'm still seeing this in glorious 3D though. The remaster of the first film alone would've been enough to sell me.
