This is from a casting call, sequel to the 1933 film? Wtf???

"Kong: Skull Island" takes place years after the original film. In 1933, American showman Carl Denham returned from a mysterious, hidden island with a priceless treasure. A treasure not of gold or jewels, but the island's barbaric god, a monstrous anthropoid called "Kong." The savage giant escaped and wreaked havoc among the man-made canyons of Manhattan, but within hours of the giant ape's death his body, and Carl Denham, disappeared. Many years later, the son of Carl Denham makes a shocking discovery that leads him back to the site of his father's greatest adventure and to the answers that will unlock the century's greatest mystery and history's greatest miracle.

That is almost the same description of the graphic novel Kong: King of Skull Island

Hopefully it doesn't take 80 minutes to get to the island this time.

Interesting that this isn't a prequel. Anyway Jackson's film is a near perfect masterpiece so ain't gonna be topped no matter how good this is. Hopefully it still manages to explore some interesting ideas

just watched Kong 2 nights ago. The 3 t-Rex fight is fucking awesome and so is the bug scene but they really needed to trim 15 minutes out of the first act and tighten up the New York stuff another 10.

Not liking the idea of a sequel though

Adrien Brody is like the epitome of wrong casting.

And I like PJ Kong.

But the casting was bad. Good actors...bad casting.

And yes, too long. LoTR lessons...applied to the wrong movie.

Those travel subplots on the boat were as riveting as a David Fincher thriller.

NOT.

Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Andy Serkis were all terrific in the movie, and Adrien Brody was still good even if not on the same level as the others.
