Critic reviews will not affect the box office just like it didn't affect the box office for Aladdin and the Lion King. However there's a strong possibility that audiences may like the film but not find it rewatchable or love it as much as the first one which could affect his legs. A good example of that is last year's Ralph breaks the internet. While critics liked it audience it sounded a little underwhelming. The most likely scenario is that audiences will like it and it will make a lot of money but they will find it more forgettable than the first one. Kind of like Finding Dora and The Incredibles 2

Somewhat affected Lion King and Aladdin. Aladdin should have been way bigger but many of the critics acted like it was the most mediocre film ever, like Wrinkle in Time bad. Suppressed turnout. Bad marketing hurt it too. Should have done more than TS4

As for Lion King chopped the legs off hard deservedly so.

Incredibles 2 was better than the first one.

My god is at 84%, some people act like it’s rotten or Something.

People will still go and see it because RT isn’t relevant as it used to be and the score is pretty good anyway.

84% is darn good. People are talking about Aladdin and how the reviews indicated it sucked. It was great. Dumbo was rated only slightly worse. A grand canyon of difference between the two.

The fact that Dumbo and Aladdin had a similar critical response....I have to laugh

How to make a movie rewatchable for the audience? Musical factor has a role here?

Critics Consensus is up: Even though at times Frozen II doesn't quite nail the showstopping feel of the first film, it is still a dazzling adventure into the unknown.

These reviews are definitely quite good, but they are a fair bit lower than almost everything else WDAS put out this decade.

Then again, almost everything else WDAS has put out this decade was an original film. Sequels automatically have the expectation factor of living up to the original so it's no wonder most sequels are seen as lesser (Toy Story 2 and 3 being the exceptions)

Reviews won’t make any different to the box office. Only thing that will happen now is there will be a bunch of thinkpieces about how Disney shouldn’t make sequels or something

Yeah, the new Lion King hadpretty meh reviews and look what happened with it.

The reviews are good enough so they will not hurt the film at the box office. Which is all the film needed at this point.

I am a bit skeptical that the film will do as well as the first which was a box office phenomenon, but it will do very, very well indeed, probably above a billion.

The first did well because it had a killer song and no other reason.

BS. A good song alone will not make a film gross as much as Frozen did.

If you are going to be the contrarian, at least try to be a bit more convincing .
