Looks like a fun action sequel! Need to see the first John Wick, I completely missed it when it came out. There should be a club John Wick Chapter OW>Fifty Shades Darker domestic total.

It's definitely increasing but it'll stay under 100M IMO. Maybe the third movie can hit that mark.

part of me never wanted a sequel but now that it's coming and obviously liking the teaser, that part is a lot quieter now and I can't wait for this movie

Watched the first one today. A pretty solid, somewhat stylish, old school action flick. Way overhyped around here though, and nowhere near Raid 1 & 2 (imo).

Raid 1 & 2 shouldn't be compared with anything IMO.

 

The virtuosity of these films is linked with the absurd skill level of their "actors" who can accomplish things some of the most seasoned stunts teams in America couldn't do in their dreams.

The first was an awesome action fest but was slightly thin on story. Even so I still somewhat cared about the main characters. Everything else more than made up for it though. 

 

The second way over compensated story wise. They could have cut about 30 min off the first two hours. The last 30min or so is pure action genius, and has what could be the best one on one martial arts fight scene ever put to film.

I loved John Wick and am definitely looking forward to John Wick 2, but this could end up becoming Crank 2 all over again. 

 

Both Crank and John Wick are very similar films, the type you think critics will trash, but they loved it because these movies came out of nowhere and made the leading guy popular again with inventive action to boot. Everyone is anticipating for the sequel, it comes out, the reviews are solid but it tanks at the boxoffice.

I hope JW2 is not crank 2 at the boxoffice.
