Admittedly, my post was pompous, but we all do that from time-to-time. I just need to be able to come across more friendly in writing I suppose. Sorry if I offended anyone Regardless, Blanchett has killed it in three roles this year. She is nothing short of a revelation. <
4815162342
You got lots of strong opinions and you got the know-how to back them up. You just gotta dial it down a bit when addressing what other people think.

That's because an expert was inactive for too long. If they don't update in a while GD removes their predictions until they update.
Impact
Which is why films like The Martian is down from picture by 1 and Inside Out is down from animation by 1 I take it!

ban1o
Lawrence will probably still get nominated imo. The Academy loves her
CoolioD1
100% wishful thinking going on in this thread w/ theron. the academy would way rather throw a bone to a performance in middling oscar bait. even if joy's reviews aren't all that Jlaw's are pretty strong.
filmlover
People are being too reactionary regarding JLaw. Sure, the reviews for Joy itself are on the weak side, but she's still getting strong notices and it's not like there are many strong alternatives in this mostly barren category. She shouldn't have much difficulty landing in 5th despite the movie falling apart in every other category.
The Panda
1.Larson 2.Ronan 3.Blanchett 4.Rampling 5.Theron Lawrence is out.
Jake Gittes
I've got Ronan ahead of Larson since she's won more critics' awards, has Searchlight instead of A24 behind her, is a previous nominee, and her movie isn't dead at the box office. Don't think she deserves it but she's got more going for her than anyone else.
bitterblue
No JLaw at the SAGs...
misafeco
I don't know why people are predicting Theron. She has absolutely no chance. There are 3 locks (Ronan, Larson, Blanchett). It's okay if you don't like Lawrence and you think she won't be nominated, but the Academy can find an actress from a movie nobody has seen and nominate her before Theron. Look at the SAG nominees. Mirren's Woman in Gold is 52% on RT (April movie). Silverman's I Smile Back is 55% (WTF is this, anyone knew there is a movie with this title? lol).
