Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse | 12.14.2018 | Sony | Phil Lord and Chris Miller

The movie was awesome.  Love the characters, the plot was good and explains why they are there.  Very funny and humorous.  Lots of emotional roller coaster rides. There are after credits as well worth waiting for.  Best Spiderman movie IMO.

Sony seemed to be okay with it losing those screens, if they weren't then they shouldn't have released it when they did?

If you release during the Holiday Season, you can expect to lose screens a lot faster then anyy other time of the year. even the big summer months are nowhere near as crowded.

Seen this today thought it was alright nothing spectacular as alot of critics and people are claiming it to be. It also to me doesn't feel like a Spiderman movie but more of an anniversary movie celebrating the character of spiderman since it's creation by having all these tropes the character is known for and being self-referential at times very much in the vein of Lego Batman.

Those of you who’ve  seen this.  Would this have worked in live action too?

Honestly, not as well?  Like there are scenes where I was thinking “this is fucking awesome right here, but if they’d done this in live action it’d be insufferable.”  I was thinking about this with Aquaman, that certain scenes in Aquaman would be better if they were done in animation.  Fuck it, let’s just animate every superhero movie from now on.
