Minions following DM2

Wed 13.44M (-20%)

Thur 12.71M (-5.4%)

Fri 18.69M (+47%)

Sat 24.22M (+29.6%)

Sun 18.07M (-25.4%)

60.97M weekend (-47.3%)

At 10 days Minions will be up on DM2 by 34.6M. If it holds like this 400M is locked with a shot at 450M.

10% increases are normal for Tuesday.

30+% is not...

But actual dollar amount increase is similar as last Monday to Tuesday. The percentage increase is just higher, because the numbers are lower. For example Terminator Genisys increase yesterday to today. Was 1.6 to 2.2 million, while last week it was 3.4 to 4 million. So percentage is higher this week, but dollar amount about the same.

Hopefully this allows JW to hit $600M on Thursday.

Why?

It would actually be better if JW hit it on Friday or the weekend, since online websites and newspapers would actually report it.

I didn't realize how impressive Universal's billion dollar summer was until I ran some numbers.

-A studio running a billion dollars during the summer calendar has never happened before.

-The studios that had done it with adjusted ticket prices had massive summers in hot periods (Uni 1982, Sony 1997, Sony 2002, Disney 2003, Fox 2005).

-The summer is halfway over, with another two Universal releases on the slate and the remaining runs of Minions and JW generating at least $250 million more.

I don't see anyone topping what Universal has done this summer.

EDIT:  Oh, and if Ant-Man is a big hit, we will go from never having one to having 2 in the same summer.  Disney needs only another $250 million.

First the Monday hold was on par with IO's first one, and now it has a stronger first Tuesday hold. Minions could be in for 70m this weekend if it keeps this up.

after the results of Wednesday we will know something more :)

Great for IO. Should pass UP on Thursday and hit 300M on Saturday.  :D

2.76M

2.70M (passes UP)

3.78M (+40%)

5.14M (+36% hits 300M)

4.06M  (-21%)

13M (-26%)

That's way too low of a drop on thursday.

How come Gopher said 2.9 for JW but it says 2.8 in the title? Did I miss an update or something?

2.8 would prob be the better #,  Minions could look to hit 17,  IO 3.3, JP4 2.8

Canada as usual big tues increase,  NYC went ballistic on tues with number films as did few other markets, LA had some bumps to but not to extent of NYC
