Aquaman is biracial (Polynesian), Wonder Woman is played by an Israeli woman, Suicide Squad featured the moat diverse cast in CBM history (Asian, Latino, Native American and Black leads), Shazam has a foster family with superpowers made up of kids from different races, Birds of Prey feature multiple Asian leads and a Latina and Black woman in lead roles. 

 

With Marvel it's mostly Black and White and they make a publicity stunt out of it. With DC it's everybody and the diversity is natural (ie best actor gets the role, no publicity). DC also has a Blue Beetle film (Latino led) and Green Lantern film ( a franchise with Black/Latino/Arab leads) in development. There's also Black Adam led by the Rock and featuring Hawkman (Egyptian/Middle Eastern actor).

So when Marvel does it's publicity stunt? Wah re ... Also Marvel's new movies has first openly gay character. Also you are sayin Marvel has only black characters does Black character does not count as diverse or what? In Spiderman Homecoming you have Hispanic character, in guardians Asian character. Hell BP has Black cast and it was massive phenomena. I don't think Marvel does it for publicity stunt if it was os it wouldn't have been so successful.

Who fucking cares? I'm sure everyone in the DCEU chosen for their roles were the best choice for their roles, just like everyone chosen for their roles in the MCU were the best choice. Screw diversity for diversity's sake and just select the best candidates for each role.

 

I swear, if ZERO white people were chosen for any role, nobody would bitch and lecture about diversity. Nobody. Not a peep.

DC did absolutely nothing for diversity for a long time. Diversity for a very mediocre film in Suicide Squad wasn't a good thing. Black Panther helped, that one hurt.

Either Porgs or Goose, haven't read the comics but if Goose is made up for the film it's pretty scummy.

 

However Goose isn't added for toy sales.

There's no comparison between MCU and DCEU in terms of diversity. Marvel had 10 years of white male dominance, while Zack Snyder cast diverse actors from the get go and pushed for a female led film very early.

 

That's not to say Marvel's recent efforts shouldn't be celebrated. But it's hilarious to see the film journalists congratulating Marvel like they're doing something no one ever did, and saying we should cheer for these movies even if they're bad or mediocre, when we all remember they did everything in their power to kill the DCEU. Only reason they didn't kill the most diverse franchise in history is because the movies were embraced by general audiences and DC comics fans (the same DC comics fans the film journalists bullied on Twitter during the entire 2016).

I hope DC continues his focus on Diversity with making good films instead of crap like Suicide Squad in the past. It hurts the cause like the dumpster fire of Elektra from Marvel. Aquaman and Wonder Woman were both badass. More of that, nothing like the batman remake crap, justice league was horrible, Batman vs Superman sucked, Man of Steel was ok. 

 

I wish there was an effective to crossover from TV to movies, the DC TV series have been awesome.
