I was informed by many here that $3B was on the cards?

I think you’re forgetting it had a big opening weekend. Also, please, reminding people how much shade they threw at James Cameron, Avatar, and fans is just rude. In fact it was the Jim Gang all along that was rude, by pointing out this shade via quoting people. ;)

please ignore the the pic below I don’t know how to delete it

Arrogant fanboys deserve to be knocked down a peg or two.....A high profile MCU film doing a ''Solo'' would do just that....better late than never...I hope to witness that day..We all do..

I don't have my Avatar on my phone - but if I did I would post it. You get the gist.

Look at the top 3 Disney OWs and you need the next 17(!) biggest OWs of the year to equalize.

Just brutal for end of 5th month. Things will start to balance out with TS4 and TLK, but still Disney

1

The last three words are so true, still Disney as TS4 and TLK will only balance out the superhero-rest thing but not the Disney-rest thing.

Because I guess the Endgame, CM, TS4 and TLK should have a combined OWend of more than 800m for that actually both TS4 and TLK need to open with 150m, I first wanted to write just, but to be honest 150m would be really great for TS4 and I'd say great for TLK too. And with Frozen 2 and TROS will make the top OWends, even more, Disney heavy especially as Spider-Man opens on  Tuesday and theoretically could do just 90m on Friday to Saturday and probably still would open with 200m for the 6-day. So it would actually be behind Aladdin.

Could we theoretically have all OWend's above 100m by Disney movies (CM, Endgame, TS4, TLK, Frozen 2 and TROS); and then maybe Spider-Man in there.

Main threat for a non Disney produced movie seems to be It 2

I always forget about that movie, I am totally not the horror movie type. I am way too easily scared of those movies to watch them.

Joker?

Could go both ways I guess.

What about The Secret Life of Pets 2?

I think it would perform well if it would open with around $70m and I don't even know if that will happen.

I just saw that Pets opens on Friday / Thursday evening, thought it would come out later.

If it gets closer to 100 than 50 I think a lot will be pleasantly surprised.

Would it be the craziest thing to happen this year? Definitely not. Better chance than It 2? Don’t think so.

The Shay is SO glad the Kaiju movies are finally over!! :)

Only one thing left to do - WB cancel Godzilla VS Kong, before they've lost even more money, and become the laughing stock of the entire world.

Kaiju movies CAN be done right - as Pacific Rim showed - but Disney (fuck WB) have to wait a couple of years for these bombs to be forgotten, and to find a really good visionary director, like Del Toro.

Also NEVER again try to adapt Godzilla and the other laughable cardboard monsters from the centuries past. They just can not work - and are not worth it. They should be watched on VCR - as ever.
