For Vin to direct, they would have to dissolve the current LLC set up for F10, eat the costs already incurred as a loss, open a new LLC for F10 and get everyone to sign new contracts for that movie and hope they don't ask for a raise knowing they have the studio by the balls and then make Vin director.

 

Easier thing would be to get a yes-man to do whatever Vin wants.

Key point in that story is one million a day is going down the toilet until they get a new director

You go overschedule, you go over budget. Time quite literally money in film production.

I suspect even if they get a new director say, tommorow, they can't really stary filming again until next week. It's probabl already in the area of 10 Million over budget.

It thinks like this that made studio execs such great customers for the shrinks.

And that is a big prolblem: A lot of the good action directors are already busy or are have already signed the contract

for a film that will start shooting a long time before they could hope to complete FF9,

The producers might have to take not who they really want,  but who they can get.

And that Million dollar a day going down the drain keeps on going...

I somehow think Howard would not want to deal with Diesal's ego.......which is another problem;Some directors who are free just don't want that headaches.

Yes, get Vijay Krishna Acharya, let's kill this franchise in the next movie. Sanjay Gadhvi hasn't done much in Bollywood in the past decade either.
