Alan Silverstri turned in a basically full Pirates score and they dumped it. Hans and his team came in with l 2 months left or something crazy. 

 

Silvestri was actually fired for apparently using woodwinds, which is ironic considering Pirates 3 finally used them. Bruckheimer has really somewhat weird taste in film music.

 

Shame about Debney, but it's probably because the score didn't match the tone of the film.

I'd laugh so hard if Mel's film got some Oscar nods while Nate Parker's is rightfully ignored.
