Right on track with TS3's bump for Dory. If Sunday follows that pattern it's headed to 74-76. IDR will either just make or just miss 40. Was hoping Shallows could pull an increase today, but at least it's a small increase over Friday proper.

You are missing some there. Home Alone, Mighty Ducks, Sandlot, Mrs. Doubtfire, Babe, Free Willy, Sister Act, Three Musketeers, 3 Ninjas, Rookie of the Year, Cool Runnings. And of course you had the great movies of the 80s just a rental store away, like Goonies, Princess Bride, Back to the Future, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Indy, Star Wars, Labrynth.

I was expecting a higher number for The Shallows but I think I was being overly optimistic and greedy.

I was just talking about the big hits of their year. Yeah, obviously I left Home Alone off the suck list for a reason (though it is overrated). Mrs. Doubtfire or Sister Act I wouldn't call kids films. And never did understand why anyone liked Free Willy or Babe, even when I was a kid.

At my theatre today. ID4 wit 11.6M (more or less stable from yesterday). Finding Dory 37.4M after just over 23-24M from yesterday. Shallows was steady with around 5M. Free State was also even more of less from yesterday with3M.

I guess Sister Act is questionable (but not really), but Mrs. Doubtfire was undoubtedly a kid's film. And didn't like Babe? How does it feel to have no soul?

Mrs Doubtfire deals with heavy topics and has a whole lot of sexual jokes/dialouge to be called a kid's film. Definitely not meant for under 8 or 9 at the very least. 

 

And I was too busy watching the classic 70's Charlotte's Web to be bothered with the mediocre Babe.

The Shallows suffered from scheduling.  It was stuck in smaller seat count theaters and many couldn't adjust by the time it was clear it was going to be a minor hit.

At least Independence Day Resurgence cost 165 million. Fox can't be happy with their last two big films though.

Charlotte's Web was great, but the pig was stupid. Put Babe and Charlotte together and give Charlotte something interesting to write about, now that would have been a movie.

 

As far as Mrs. Doubtfire, eh. It was the genie as a bizarrely funny Mary Poppins. Whatever adult dialogue was missed for all the zany hijinks.

Seeing that list of 90's movies makes me wish they would reboot The Addams Family. Family Values is still one of my favorite comedies.
