chasmmi
4th - The Incredibles 441pts - 26 votes, 1 FIRST, 4 top 5, 4 top 10 (2014: 3rd: Down 1) Mine and many people's number one Pixar film. This was the film I predicted to win and turns out I was wrong. It didn't even end up the number 1 Pixar film. The film is the Fantastic Four film we have been waiting for Fox to make for us in live action. It's also the film that went to most inexplicably long length of time without getting a sequel green-lit. If the film had received 1 more top 7 vote, it would have topped the whole list.
chasmmi
That seems like a suitable place to stop for an hour or two. The top 3 is a straight fight between Disney, Pixar and Ghibli.
chasmmi
3rd - Spirited Away 443pts - 22 votes, 2 FIRST, 9 top 5, 5 top 10 (2014: 11th: Up 8) One final big climber left in the list here. It got so close to pulling off the huge upset. One more top 10 vote would have won the whole thing, but 3rd is a damn fine result for a non-English language film in a predominantly English language forum. The film is a classic piece of animation that would not be out of place topping any list like this and this was the early leader list wise as it and Mononoke traded blows early on to hold the top 2 spots healthily before the anime-light lists started to make their presence known.
chasmmi
2nd - The Lion King 454pts - 25 votes, 3 FIRST, 4 top 5, 6 top 10 (2014: 1st: Down 1) It is insane how close this came to retaining the top spot. This is my personal number 3 Disney animation and 4th best animation period, so I am pretty okay with it coming in 2nd place. It's a masterpiece after all and although it is hard to compare different eras box office wise, I would say that this is Disney's overall biggest box office hit. Disney did what schools around the world couldn't and that was trick kids into enjoying Shakespeare. Everything about this film is glorious and the only question left remaining is: How many people saw the winner of this list coming???
chasmmi
1st - Inside Out 455pts - 27 votes, 2 FIRST, 3 top 5, 6 top 10 (2014: New Entry) I did not see this coming at all. It's a great film and one of the best of the past decade or so. But I did not expect it to come in top of the pile. And looking at the votes, this film won by just being consistently liked by everybody. Almost every list had this film in a reasonably strong position which could not be said for the rest of the top 10. the Japanese films suffered from not being as familiar as the Disney/Pixar stuff. The Renaissance Disney Trio all had periods of missing lists entirely, or placing very low down and in the end Inside Out just outpaced the competition. It received the most votes, and finished top of the whole list thanks to the final member list to be tallied.
chasmmi
Oh and the fake out placement in this list if anybody was wandering is that there is no fake out placement. This is the genuine list. There are a few other stats I plan to add to this thread in the coming week, but otherwise, sorry that this took so long to complete and try not to rage at Inside Out too much
peludo
First of all, @chasmmi THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK. It has been great to follow this. Concerning the ranking, I am glad to see that Inside Out is on top. It is not my favorite ever, but my favorites are not so massive as IO was. In fact, I am nicely surprised to see Spirited Away so high. I sincerely thought that Lion King would win. And as someone has mentioned, it is strange to see that the highest Toy Story film is the first one. For me is the weakest too. And I agree with your comment relative to WALL-E. If the film had been shorter and without humans it would be in top 10 films ever, not just animated, but among all films.

JohnnY
Oh wow, Inside Outt? This is insane. But I'm pretty sure the movie will go down a few positions if we do a Top 100 again in a few years. It doesn't really surprise me that so many people like it, I also love it. It's just unexpected to see this grabbing the 1st place. Enviado de meu XT1069 usando Tapatalk

Kalo
Great work @chasmmi, while IO certainly isn't my favorite animation, it is certainly the best Pixar animation to come out in a long time. I'm pleasantly surpised that my favorite Toy Story came out the highest as well.
The Panda
Inside Out rightfully won, so all other complaints are void.

Not necessarily guaranteed, Even in this list it just needed one person to have voted that wasn't a fan of it and liked films 2-5 and it would have dropped down to 5th this time around. The top 5 was crazy close. Add to that the potential for Coco, Dragon 3, the Frozen and WIR2 and of course Boss Baby and who knows what the list could be like in 2-3 years. If Toy Story 3 can drop from 4th to 10th, anything can.

lolifofo
Idk how I feel about Inside Out winning. It's a good movie. However, I've seen it three times, and for me it never manages to reach the level of storytelling and emotional depth of other Pixar films like Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Ratatouille, or Up. I guess it won because it has the least haters. I'll just pretend The Lion King won because it would have if my list was included
