Not really surprised by the B- CS score for The Girl on the Train. Have to imagine a number of people will come away disappointed when they discover the next Gone Girl this ain't.

It's definitely no Gone Girl.

She hasn't had a hit since *checks* Shallow Hal. Wait she DIES in that? ;) (Okay Royal Tenembaums was profitable, but Shallow Hal was the only film this century not with RDJ that made over 70 million, but barley!)

Edit: Oh forgot about Contagion, well it was listed below Avengers and I was skimming through and didn't catch that.

Her brief bit in SE7EN. Yeah Shallow Hal and Royal Tennabaums were both hits but other than hit she had Contagion and that was it. She's also one of the few disliked celebrities inHolywood.

I'm inclined to think the mediocre reviews for The Girl on the Train kinda took the wind out of its sails heading into the weekend. This is still a decent opening but it's pretty obvious it's not gonna make half of what Gone Girl did in total.

Yeah, it was supposed to dominate October and open somewhat bigger. A few movies moved off this weekend once GOTT date was announced.

What was supposed to come out this weekend originally? The Accountant?

I'm guessing Inferno will be the biggest movie of the month now. Eh.

The only movie I know of that supposed to come out this weekend was Monsters High and that was canceled when Universal took over GOTT and didn't want two movies coming out the same weekend.

Birth of a Nation was actually scheduled on this date after GOTT, back before the scandal.
