To be fair, Mickey Mouse owns Florida. There's no way he'd let a Looney Tunes movie do well on his turf

I dunno folks.  Maybe we were just sleeping on the nostalgia factor for Space Jam.  Is fondly thought of among folks of a certain age in a way that should/could cut across some of the faultiness of the culture wars.

Eh, Space Jam has all the hallmarks of an overperformer in urban areas and especially Philly. That said I would not be surprised with 30+ but let's see.

Lebron is coming to Fortnite this week, and my kid is talking to other kids on his mike while they play about this "media" event...this is how I know kids are engaged in this promo process.  Now, whether they go is still up to the parents:)...

 

PS - And I would think LA and maybe Cleveland and Miami (unless those two places are bitter) might overindex, too:)...

So, this Cinemark set early - if you have to pick the movie to upset BW this weekend, stick with Space Jam 2 b/c it's the sole new movie getting multi-screens:).

 

Space Jam 2 opens with 2.5 screens (including 1 of the 2 biggest) and 11 showings (with no 10ams, they are only booking 4 showings/screen).  Escape Room, Pig, and Road Runner all get 1 screen.

 

Black Widow lost 1 of the 2 big screens and dropped 1.5 screens, but is down to 18 showings and 4.5 screens (bye bye 10ams again - guess they didn't sell for BW, but that's kinda unfair b/c BW was not a kid-drawing movie).

 

F9, Boss Baby, and AQP2 all stay and keep their screens and Private Watch keeps .5 screen.  Hitman's Bodyguard and In The Heights leave.

 

But, self, doesn't this add up to 13 screens?  Yes, somehow at a 12, it does.  So, it tells me they didn't plan the extra Space Jam 2 screen and someone will be fixing this and dropping singular showings across the old holdovers (or the unbooked private watches) today or tomorrow (or Friday will be very interesting:)...

Roadrunner is up to 71 sales for Thursday with a little under 1/5 of ER2s # of shows.

So Ontario Canada will be hitting theatre reopening this Friday July 16. Advance tickets will be going on sale on Wednesday for shows. Im on a computer now so it will take some adjustment as I figure how to format the number counts. Im thinking of maybe using excel (which admittedly I don't use for much else lol). So my first while my numbers might be a little weird, but please bear with me as I figure it out and probably ask for some advice if/when I get stuck lol
