Extraordinary trend for Aladdin and it broke out way more than what we were expecting a week back.

 

Aladdin previews were good but not Yuge. Kong did 3.7m previews but what were the previews for Zilla 14?

My ugh was the “ugh more counting” tbh. 

 

 I also know that we overuse the term walk ups in this thread, but I’m going to do it anyway. Monster movies do tend to have a good walk ups. And the comps for Godzilla are not terrible going into its final week. 60M+ feels right.

Release Date is July 19th, with previews on the 18th.  Releasing it on the Monday after TS4 bows (that would be June 24) sounds like a good bet to me.  EIther that or the Monday after that, the 30th.

There was a leaked document a while back during Endgame pre-release hype that mentioned Lion King's tickets going on sale starting on June 26. So yeah, a couple days after Toy Story 4 dropped, and similar to Disney's other presales drops.

If Pacific Rim Uprising can be used as a comp then Zilla needs about 20k on Pulse for its previews to get 6 million. It's already at 9k with a lot of time to go, I think that should happen, probably well over that.

Theater sets are taking forever today...the only one in my entire area set for this Friday is the one 14 that didn't book Aladdin last weekend (they are probably regretting booking Booksmart and Brightburn).  If any indication for this weekend, this 14 theater has each new release on 2 screens...and has kept the killer B's on a full screen each, and held Pika/JW3/ the Hustle on 1 screen with Endgame getting to keep 1.5 screens (guess they have to make Disney happy somehow for passing on Aladdin)...(they have also held a screen to toss to the best opener, it seems)...

Well it took over 80 minutes (UGHH! Come on Pixar, get your shit together!) but TS4 has finally outsold SLOP2 at my theater, 17 vs 14

Dark Phoenix is the type of CBM that should be the most PS heavy and its still being beaten by Shazam in dailies. Just...horrible for it, especially if reviews end up being bad.
