Nice day to round out the week.  Was boosted by some spikes at one theater, otherwise would have been in the high nineties, low one hundreds.  We'll see what next week brings as we truly enter the marathon stage of sales.

 

Speaking of which, a reminder that starting tomorrow all comps except Captain Marvel are going bye-bye for a while.  Infinity War will return in a couple of weeks, exact day to be determined.

For tracking, Midway is the rumored next movie with the $4 TMobile deal tickets...not sure it's gonna move folks as much, since at $4, I'm not even sure I'll buy...but I figured I'd put the data out there...

 

It probably does mean that if there's a movie not named Dr Sleep to pop a little that weekend, it will probably be this one (since putting $4 tickets with subscriber plans means many folks can have $4 dates:)...

Apparently there is a ton of Disney+ announcements going on today, including a new Mando trailer dropping tonight so it might be tomorrow if it isn't within the next few hours.  At least one, maybe two, Disney ticket drops have happened on a Tue this year.  Though I think that was also do to holiday placements, so who knows.

 

Also might be an announcement sometime tonight.  Wouldn't think MNF, but could see something on an ABC show.  

 

Though why showtimes haven't started appearing, I have no idea.

Movie is < 4 weeks away and still no showtimes even. That is really late. I thought even TS4 started PS by this point.

TS4 started on Tues which would be tomorrow and TLK's first day was at this point in time

Not especially.  EG, TS4, TLK, and Aladdin all started at T-24/T-23.   Hell, Solo and KotM started at T-20 and JW:FK started at T-22.

 

Now if it isn't sometime this week, then yeah that would be pushing it a little.  But "really late"?  Not by family film standards, even a mega opener like Frozen 2.

It increased better than yesterday but that was given. Still numbers are really low(PS between 2 chains below 300K). Probably will stay below 500K by end of day wednesday and then finish around 700-800K. That would mean 1.9-2.3m national previews would be the range considering how much AMC is dominating cinemark. At worst it has Gemini man numbers(1.6m).
