Quick update on SW9 previews.

SW9 Previews (T-18)

MTC1 - overall 5130 shows 309018/856207 4616602.65 +5138
MTC2 - overall 3058 shows 202956/448122 2586595.00 +7572

Really good increase in under day and half. I wonder what was the catalyst. There was no major increase in show counts as well. That will happen in the final week.

SW9 Previews (T-17)

MTC1 - overall 5130 shows 311351/856154 4650046.80 +2333
MTC2- overall 3059 shows 204661/448262 2606313.00 +1705

Quick update. So back to normal after really strong increase yesterday. This is slightly under a day(around 21 hours).

I threw Joker on there since technically this is a 10-day ticket period just like that film (yeah the Game Awards thing was up earlier, but...c'mon). Then I added in some family hits and the other DJ vehicle.

As always, it's important to recognize that I'm comparing films that have had a much longer presales period. Therefore, they already have a head start advantage. In the coming days, with this movie likely having a more rapid growth, things will change, likely in a good way.

But...yeah, this first day does feel a little soft. I feel like doing less than 100 is very underwhelming, and it should have at least cleared that. But of course, this isn't really a presales-driven property nor genre, so hey, I'm optimistic.

Definitely a good day, always nice to see the film go above 100 tickets. But if anything, it really does show how underwhelming Jumanji did here when TROS still in the long-term sold more than Jumanji on the first day.

FWIW, I did a quick check of Jumanji: The Next Level locally a couple of hours ago and it had barely cleared 100 tickets sold in the region.  For comparison, Pika Pika sold 158 tickets its first day, and that was 30 days out.

So not a great omen locally, either.

I might do a quick check again tonight to get an exact first day number, but overall I'm almost certainly punting it and leaving it in your, and the rest of the trackers here that are checking it, capable hands.

EDIT::::

Exact tickets sold locally was 126 tickets sold, up from 105 tickets sold around 7pm-ish Pacific Time.

Not exactly a day to write home about.  Could just be heavily walkup based though.

Its early days but based on initial showcount its around where F2 started. But the count should go up closer to release. at Empire 25 it has already sold 258 tickets and has more shows than where F2 was.

Jumanji 2 Previews

MTC1 - overall 1510 shows 4647/323973 81133.93
MTC2 - overall 2667 shows 2327/436638 29127.00

Slow start but at least above all small movies I tracked over past 2 month. I think 5m previews would be good for this movie.

Jumanji 2 Previews (T-9)

MTC1 - overall 1534 shows 6150/328297 107217.27 +1503
MTC2 - overall 2654 shows 3473/433710 43750.00 +1146

Very mediocre numbers. I guess real action wont happen until wednesday next week.
