More seriously, it was much more apparent to some than others.  Some saw it coming relatively soon.  Others (*cough*) were holding out hope for a increase toward the end.  Or at least some sort of bump. 

 

But even die-hard/delusional folks like myself had a sinking pit in my stomach start to develop when it just... sat there and didn't really increase all that much the week of sales.  

 

(still have to think that while the tracking thread saw the underperformance coming, the level of it was still something of a [unpleasant] surprise)

 

I remember the bigger shock was overseas numbers, they signal total rejection

Eternals nearly matched SC 25 hour number (8537 vs 8763) in my MTC2 run that finished half an hour ago, by now it will be well higher.

I mean if you want to match the guts of @Let There Be Legion's Shang-Chi club, the target is gonna have to be higher than 100 for sure. Though I thought your club was DOM total?

The SC club wasn’t super gutsy, it really looked to be doing around there by the time I made it.    
 

Just woke up, got caught up, some really timid guesses here imo. Should be set for 15+ going to 110-130ish imo. For a bold club goal try Deadpool, or gotg2 if you wanna really go nuts.

Seems like MTC1 + MTC2 won´t be much different than BW on first day [Eternals more inclined to MTC1 tho]. Very impressive considering BW is a stablished character.

 

BW did 13.2M previews despite the finals days being meh [probably because of D+], let´s see how it goes with this one considering is theatrical exclusive and a first movie.

 

I think everyone will be happy with 11-12M, but certainly there´s room for way more, so far.

Not true. I think OD PS for BW was 30/20K. here the ratio > 3:1. 

 

That said Eternals number at MTC1 is absolutely sensational. Its up to 30521/347666 556366.47 1756 shows. Its start is well ahead of BW at MTC1.

I think they meant the sum not the ratio. I think the sum will actually be ahead of BW's 50k or very close.

I was adding the numbers, for example:

 

BW did 30k/20k, so 50k MTC1+MTC2

 

For Eternals is already at 30k on MTC1 (i'm in shock), so maybe 37-40K final on that and around 13-15k final on MTC2 for 50-55k on both.

 

That would be actually on pair / higher than BW first day. But maybe this way i'm thinking doesn't make much sense, i'm not very good reading these numbers haha.

Not sure, I started a run now. But I think the ratio vs Shang-Chi will decrease for the rest of the day after the huge start. For one thing this is T-24 vs T-17 and it doesn't have world premiere buzz to boost numbers. But with such a strong start, it doesn't matter too much.

It's almost 6pm here but the Eternals PS are nowhere as strong as Shang-Chi or Venom's first day. If memory serves, not as strong as BW's either. But there's still some time. I think most people are still buying Dune for next week? So it should pick up later

Eternals up to 10300 at MTC2. Probably aiming for a first 24 hours in the 13k range which would be 50% ahead of SC. As I said earlier the ratio got worse relative to SC, probably because of SC's premiere. Still an excellent first day. I will update again tomorrow morning and after that will go back to daily updates at my usual time (and will do Halloween tomorrow night as well).
