We don't know final SS numbers or how they escalated. It depends on how much WW can presell over the next 3 days.

By this time Suicide Squad was battling toxic reviews. It definitely had the impact in OW being what it is instead of 140-150m. Wonder Woman is locked to accelerate like crazy. This is like The Dark Knight. Watch it explode and walk ins like never before for a DC film.

Any movie after April 2017 is with Carmike.

I know, I was wondering if the 5% calculation took that into account.   If not it would be behind SS and not ahead (not even taking into account the increase in pre-sales over the last 10 months)

I remember someone saying Carmike was an extra 10% to the total presales, however even when we took away the 10% recently with GV2 (which would've been an OW in $120M-$128M) it did about the same ratio as expected with Civil War ($146.5M vs $147M) with the 10% included.

SS also had the T Mobile free ticket thing for previews which boosted it's sales.  Even then with the toxic reviews there were those claiming it would do  BvS numbers and higher, even higher than CW.

Define accelerate like crazy?   I don't see the screens in NYC filling up at any exponential rate today when if people were waiting for reviews they would have.  Lincoln Center's first showing in IMAX still isn't sold out.  Women tend to buy tickets early (we like to plan) - see B&B, 50 Shades etc   This isn't F&F.

The Dark Knight was 1) Batman 2) came on the back of Batman Begins which was popular & leggy and had huge home video sales and 3) had Heath Ledger's death & the attendant media circus 4) had reviews calling it a masterpiece

Again, it's hard to say if this will end up over SS because of several reasons:

1. The pool of theaters is much bigger than in August

2. Reserved seating has increased

3. T-Mobile just had an Atom deal

This does bode well for 115+, though.

There's no way to account for walk up business right? Either they show up in droves or not?

You can't ever know until possibly after the movie opens....and even it's not definite how much was walk-up. But based on the type of movie, it's audience and stuff we have a good idea of which films are typically walk-up oriented as opposed to presale driven.
