Tarantino hyper-violence and complete decimation of the idea of "subtlety" doesn't seem like a good choice for a horrific and truly depressing true story but like some have mentioned I can't really imagine all these big name actors risking their golden reputations on something like that. Leo himself is known for stepping up with things start to get out of hand, so we'll see.

Question is even if Tarantino wanted to do a more serious film, how well could he do it? I can see Tarantino dropping his usual bag of tricks, only to come up with a pretty mediocre,run of the mill film.

But we will have a chance to see if Tatantino really is a "Johnny One Note" or not,if the only films he can do successfully are his over the top,ultra violent in your face "Homage to some action film genre" movies.
