Longer term, I was just thinking that TLJ is lucky that NYE and CMas Eve fall on a sunday. Both of those days are very strong early day, but weaken at night.... just like a typical sunday.

Still a big drop near as I can tell.

The last time Xmas Eve fell on a Sunday was 2006:

Now, Xmas Eve ALWAYS has harsh drops, so it's partially just shuffling things around.  But those are still harsher than normal Sun drops.

I can understand, High School Musical was so cool back then :shades:

It's embargoed until 3 AM on Wednesday, which is like 6-7 hours before the first shows begin. A certified FLOP.

Yeah. Like with Thanksgivings the reporting is usually around the 5-day weekend or maybe Fri-Mon 4-day weekend. Monday bumps from Sunday will be great.

So last Jedi 104M yesterday at my theatre. Based on REALLY early matinee numbers, the lowest I can see it going here is our equivalent of 63M for Saturday. But I could easily see it going as high as 66-67+

By the way, unrelated to this thread but I'm pretty optimistic about Jumanji, I feel this movie will beat expectations, I can see a great WOM coming. I'm quite excited about it, more than any comicbook movie of the year, weirdly enough...

Sure would be ironic if they ended up helping the film instead of hurting it

All high schools have some sort of passion for High School Musical. You just never been to one.

Yeah 60 million Saturday+ or I will a eat a shoe.

I am that certain

I have one of my own of these going. Some guys on the Star Wars forum were talking about what if TLJ was so well reviewed that it won big Oscars. I wrote hahahahaha yeah good luck with that, if it wins Best Picture I will eat my underwear. I think I’m pretty damn safe but I said that pre-review embargo so the odds went from like 0.1% to 0.5%. Ha ha
