They were so unable to bear it that it outgrossed Ragnarok at the domestic box office!

Even the biggest haters of the movie would accept that a longer run time would have helped to flesh out some things that were missing in the theatrical cut.

When people would realize that bigger box office gross doesn't mean quality? L&T had opened with $143M at box office because of goodwill of Thor Ragnarok & Avengers movies. If Thor L&T was new franchise like Eternals, then with such mediocre quality it would have grossed even lower than Eternals.

This movie has tons of ground to cover - new BP origin, Namor origin, Iron Heart origin being the biggest 3 so running time sounds right. Also, pacing is everything. A short movie can feel interminable and a long one like a breeze due to pacing.

Does anyone else feel like the polarizing reception for the last couple of movies is going to cause this to underperform? Or is it just me? The lack of a proper lead now that Chadwick's gone won't help matters either. I wouldn't be surprised to see it miss the billion dollar mark.

All about the marketing and reception of this movie. Doesn’t matter what the reception of the previous films were. Besides Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness didn’t underperform and Thor: Love and Thunder only underperformed compared to its budget. Both made more worldwide than their previous films without China.
